Tropical prints and colours seem to be an emerging trend for Spring 2012, and the duo behind Peter Pilotto brought their own very disiplined, if rather literal, interpretation to London this morning. Prints of hothouse blooms, crashing waves and oversized fish scales conveyed an exotic feel. Many of the pieces featured panelling and a central zip more commonly found on a wetsuit. All of which made perfect sense as the program notes confessed that Christopher De Vos and Peter Pilotto had been inspired by a recent holiday in Indonesia. Looks were cut sexily close to the body, with the exception of a few full, structured skirts which gave the impression of floating underwater. Of the entire show, one of the highlights had to be the lust-worthy, Nicholas Kirkwood designed shoes. Bedecked in flowers as they were, even they contributed significantly to the lush, tropical feel of the entire SS/12 collection.
