‘The following is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed’. Hands up who’s excited about Anchorman 2 (aka Anchorman: The Legend Continues)? Now watch this trailer… Hands up who’s really, really excited about Anchorman 2?!

The first film, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, was one of the stand out comedies of the noughties. A smash hit released back in 2004, offering an abundance of superb comedy catch-phrases including, ‘You’re so wise. You’re like a miniature Buddha, covered with hair’ and ‘Who typed a question mark on the Teleprompter?’, which have been quoted far and wide ever since. Marking the directorial debut of Adam McKay, former head writer for Saturday Night Live, the film’s set in the 1970’s and introduced us to San Diego’s top-rated news anchor, Ron Burgundy; a part that catapulted Will Ferrell to comedy king status. He’s now set to continue his on-set adventures along with fellow comics Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner. Christina Applegate does not appear as Veronica Corningstone as it’s been said that producers are keen to utilise the foursome. Fair enough.

Filming for Anchorman: The Legend Continues doesn’t actually start until February 2013, but the teaser, currently screening ahead of showings of Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator in the US, looks very promising indeed!
