#Standwithsofie Campaign Updates: Abducted Girl Found or Not?

Back in 2020, a 10-year-old Texas girl named Sophie made it to the news headlines when her video went viral over social media. It was clearly seen in that video that Sophie was screaming and accusing her mother’s fiancé of sexual abuse. After this, a campaign entitled “Standwithsofie” started, pleading justice for the little girl.

After a thorough research, it has been found out that the video was captured on the day when Sophie’s parents were fighting in the court over their children’s custody. In actual, this whole incident took place outside the court when Sophie was clinging to her father, Michael Long’s car seat while revealing that her mother’s fiancé is a sexual abuser. There’s a strong possibility that not only Sophie but her two younger brothers were also being abused.

Unfortunately, due to financial instability, Sophie’s father lost the custody of his children to his ex-wife, Kelly. Somehow, Sophie’s mother convinced the court and police that Michael Long taught their daughter to fabricate such a shameful story as her fiancé, Jake is innocent.

To everyone’s shock, a few months later, Sophie was abducted. It was like she disappeared out of thin air. Police has been believing that she wasn’t actually abducted but her father’s Michael Long took her without permission. As the non-custodial parent, Michael couldn’t have meet Sophie without court or her mother’s permission, so he kidnapped her. It was July 12 2021 when Sophie was last spotted in Seguin, Texas. Since then, no one knows where she went. The police tried to track Michael but couldn’t find anything other than a wild guess that “Michael along with Sophie are en route to Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Mexico or Argentina”.

Sophie’s mother Kelly has stated that it is heartbreaking and terrifying as she keeps receiving death threats and hate mails from people as everyone believes that I let my daughter be sexually abused. Anyhow, Kelly has been consistently denying these accusations. Well, we don’t know the inner story, all we can do is hope and pray for Sophie’s safety.
